Modernization of the laboratory section, together with net scales, beet conveyors from the net scales to a pulper and with the pulper.

Purpose of the investment project:

Thanks to the industrial robot, a line was created which uses state-of-the-art technologies, not requiring continuous supervision, operation, and which minimizes the number of devices at the station. Additionally, the line is very compact. The complete laboratory was built on an area of only 12 square meters.

Work head:

Using a specialist gripper, the robot serves the following devices participating in the raw materials testing process:

  • pulper,
  • homogenizer,
  • a dispensing scale,
  • a station for washing and drying bowls and cups,
  • conveyor for spare pulp samples,
  • a station for clarifying solutions.

Description of operation:

One of the possible options for the modernization was to make a line operated by people, however Wikpol Sp. z o.o. used an innovative and modern solution, never used before, namely a service-free line with a FANUC Robotics type M-10iA industrial robot.

Additional information:

"Choosing the innovative solution proposed by Wikpol Sp. z o.o. namely a robot in the raw materials laboratory, turned out to be 100% correct.

We have obtained specific measurable benefits which are service-free operation of our laboratory 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week, guaranteed capacity of 60 samples per hour, and 100% reliability of the test results on the basis of which the financial settlements with farmers are made. Thanks to connecting the robot with the metering record system, and with the Plantacja SQL settlement system, we now have a single consistent data management system for the quality of our deliveries. The effectiveness and reliability of the whole position in the 2010/2011 campaign turned out to be very high.

Given the aspects above, I recommend Wikpol Sp. z o.o. as a proven and reliable partner with an innovative approach to implementing the tasks entrusted" – Mirosław Narojek – Chief Raw Materials Officer.
